The MP5k (PTR 9KT) | The Best Compact 9mm PCC? (Dead Air Wolfman vs SilencerCo Omega 9k)

The H&K MP5k is an absolutely iconic firearm that has seen over 45 years of service with military and police forces as one of the earliest examples of a PDW design. Beyond its real world service, the MP5k is instantly recognizable even to casual viewers due to its wide use in films, shows and video games. The MP5k (K is German for "Kurz," which means short) is known for being a reliable, soft shooting and highly suppressable submachine gun -- or for civilians, a semi-automatic 9mm pistol caliber carbine (PCC). The roller-delayed action of the MP5k is nearly identical in operation to its full-size MP5 brother, but the shorter action typically gives it a much higher cyclic rate - unless you install an 80-degree locking piece, which is a very effective upgrade designed to slow down the cyclic rate when shooting suppressed. This is the 7th video in my ongoing ultimate 9mm PCC comparison series, which will culminate in a massive, epic comparison video comparing my 10 favorite 9mm PCCs. If that's something that interests you, make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss the remaining videos as they drop. In this Range Day video, I had an absolute blast shooting my PTR 9KT. The PTR 9KT is an American made MP5k clone with an 5.16" trilug barrel. If you're interested in learning more about the full-size MP5 and the roller-delayed action that powers these platforms, you can check out my original MP5 video here:    • The MP5 (PTR 9CT) | Still the Best 9mm PCC?   In my opinion, the PTR 9KT is a very well-made and impressive MP5k clone that feels nearly indistinguishable from other high quality clones and even the legitimate HK SP5k. The charging handle and roller-delayed bolt action is extremely smooth, the trigger has a nice consistent break and all aftermarket furniture I have tried has fit and locked up without issue. The welded picatinny rail makes mounting optics simple, and the shooting experience is absolutely fantastic. I've owned my PTR 9KT for 3 years and have had excellent reliability with both my PTR 9KT seen in this video as well as my PTR 9CT (MP5). In addition to the extensive shooting of the PTR 9KT, this video also features a min-review and comparison of the SilencerCo Omega 9k versus the Dead Air Wolfman in its short configuration, both using their respective tri-lug adapters. These are some of the most popular PCC suppressors on the market, and they both have strengths and weaknesses that I discuss at length throughout the video, including direct sound comparisons. As much as I love my PTR 9KT and 9CT, if I was to buy an MP5 today, I would strongly consider the Century Arms MKE imports (AP5, AP5P etc), because the prices at the time of filming are some of the best I've ever seen for the platform, and the quality seems to be very similar to other respectable clones as well. I have a ton of videos in the works including more PCCs, as well as ARs, AKs, Shotguns and Handguns.
