Hadrian's Wall Path

Hadrian's Wall path walked 10th to 15th May 2026. I wasn't over impressed with beginning and end parts of this walk but I loved the middle section, the hills, the scenery, lots of the wall and forts etc. Really lovely and interesting and certainly made the walk worthwhile. I encountered a lot of cattle, more than on any other long distance walk I've done before, but had no problem except for the white bull. He started breathing heavily as I approached and then gave a little jump towards me. Maybe nothing much. but it was enough for me to back off and take a wide berth around him - better safe than sorry. I had seen a post on Facebook just a week or two previous to my walk that said the white bull was quite safe which is why I didn't hesitate to approach him - I will know not to believe what I see on FB in the future!! I was extremely lucky with the weather as the forecast for most days was heavy rain, but apart from a few little light showers which only lasted a few minutes and a bit of drizzle, I avoided most of it. I completed the walk in 6 days, 90.27 miles - 7090 feet elevation.
