I Tried to Climb Milford Sound's Most Iconic Peak
Flying from Wanaka to Milford Sound is one of the most spectacular flights in New Zealand, but this wasn't just a scenic flight. In this episode of Final Approach NZ, I depart Wanaka and fly into the heart of Fiordland with one goal: camp on Mitre Peak and attempt one of New Zealand's most iconic climbs. After landing at Milford Sound Airport, the adventure continues on kayak and on foot as I make my way into some of the steepest and most dramatic terrain in the country. With stunning views over Milford Sound, a night spent in an unplanned camp spot, and an ambitious summit attempt ahead, all whilst watching the incoming weather forecast change through out the trip. If you enjoy aviation, mountain adventures, hiking, trail running, bush flying and exploring wild places, subscribe for future missions.
