It was a job arranged by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, which designated it as a "Standard Certified Workplace for the Disabled." However, in March of this year, Ms. Kim's father, who was trying to buy spring clothes for his daughter, noticed her unusually protruding belly and visited a hospital, where he finally discovered she was pregnant. Ms. Kim, who was full-term, gave birth via Cesarean section in late April. Despite having a severe Grade 2 intellectual disability, her social age was equivalent to that of a 7-year-old, while her ability to express likes and dislikes was at the level of a 4-year-old. The police, who launched an investigation after receiving a report of sexual assault, confirmed that the child's DNA matched that of a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. Lee, an executive at the laundry company where Ms. Kim works. Even now, when I think about June 9th (the day the perpetrator was identified), I shudder with rage.] It was revealed that Mr. Lee sexually assaulted the victim again early last month, just one month after the birth and right before he was identified as the perpetrator. I admit to everything.] It was also discovered that Mr. Lee attempted to destroy evidence earlier last year, such as taking Ms. Kim to an OB/GYN to attempt an abortion and replacing her cell phone with his own used phone. Mr. Lee is reportedly admitting to having sexual relations dozens of times, yet denying the charges by claiming the relationship was "consensual." Ms. Kim's father, who lived alone with his daughter, quit his job early this month to care for the newborn.
