Encounters: Jesus and Nathanael - Samuel Barillas

In this message, we explore Nathanael’s encounter with Jesus and discover what happens when we realize that Jesus truly sees and knows us. 1. Jesus Sees the Person Before the Potential Philip invited Nathanael to meet Jesus, even after Nathanael questioned whether anything good could come from Nazareth. Instead of arguing, Philip simply said, “Come and see.” Jesus sees beyond our doubts, assumptions, and present circumstances. 2. Jesus Knows What Nobody Else Knows Before Nathanael ever approached Him, Jesus had already seen him under the fig tree. Jesus knows the hidden parts of our lives—the questions, struggles, prayers, and moments that no one else sees. 3. Being Seen by Jesus Leads to Following Jesus When Nathanael realized that Jesus truly knew him, he responded with faith: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” A genuine encounter with Jesus transforms skepticism into belief and leads us to follow Him. Jesus sees you, knows you, and invites you to come and discover who He truly is.
