Ferry Cross The Mersey

Taking a ferry across the river Mersey doesn’t take long, you’ve reached the other side in around ten minutes. To think that in years gone by this was the main way people travelled across the river is amazing. Of course, with trains and two road tunnels it’s much different now. On the morning I travelled I’d say there were probably less than ten people onboard going from Seacombe to Liverpool. Snowdrop is currently the only ferry on the Mersey with Royal Iris being retired earlier in the year. This is ahead of the arrival of the new Royal Daffodil ferry later in 2026. If I can, I’d like to take a trip on her not long after she enters service. Filmed May 2026. #ferry #ferrytrip #merseyferry
