LAKE DISTRICT FELL RUNNING | THE LANGDALE HORSESHOE FELL RACE | ROUTE RECCE | 2023
Today's run is a recce of the Langdale Horseshoe Fell Race taking place October 7th 2023. The race is organised and marshalled by Ambleside AC. A brilliant running club in the heart of the Lake District. It's a category AL (i.e. hardest ascent profile and long distance). It's roughly 13.1 miles with a total elevation of 1450 meters. The cut off timings are quite tight (for me). The start and finish is at The Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel at the top end of the valley. The Langdale Valley is quintessentially 'Lake District' and is one of my favourite areas of the Lakes, it's an awesome place to run. I'm looking forward to this race, perhaps I'll see some of you there. Thanks for watching. John
