Redoubt Fort - Harwich - Essex - England

This is an original Napoleonic Fortress, built by the English during the Napoleonic war period 1808 - 1810. It is believed that they also used French Prisoners of war to help them build it.. It was in the time when England was under a real threat of war, by being invaded by Napoleon's Army. The Fortress holds several live re-enactment events throughout each year. The one that you are about to view, was re-created by the Napoleonic Society of East Anglia. Followed by some footage of the museum itself. With displays and artefacts of items, uniforms and weapons from that period right through to World War 1 and World War 2. Of all three armed forces, Army, Navy and Airforce. These items had been kindly donated by ex-servicemen and women that had fought in these events in history. Then there is a photo gallery to finish it off, for you to view as well.
