The Keputih Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPLT) is a facility under the Liquid Waste Management Section of the Surabaya Department of Sanitation and Green Open Spaces. The IPLT processes fecal waste into compost in an effort to improve environmental quality, particularly water quality caused by water pollution. The treated wastewater and sludge can be safely returned to nature. The treated sludge can be used for composting (agricultural cultivation). In addition to composting, it can also be used to improve environmental quality, particularly water quality. The maximum processing capacity of 400 m3/day at the IPLT is not met daily. . .
