Luther’s Legacy: Hero or Heretic?
As Reformation day approaches, I decided to dedicate today’s video to the man himself, Martin Luther. When I was a Protestant, I shared a connection to this man. I felt the pain of his struggles and I shared his desire to stop hating God and longing to know Gods loved. As I began studying church history and really diving into the reformation, I found that Martin Luther suffered from scrupulosity. Luther’s problems and despair wasn’t because of the Catholic faith. It was his own mind and his inability to grasp the beauty of the gospel and the healing sacraments of the church. Did Luther rediscover the gospel or did he make up a new gospel? A gospel that would ease his conscience and free him from his inability to stop obsessing over his sins? Join me as I discuss all of this and more. #catholic #martinluther #protestant #reformation #history #christian
