I Met With My Jehovah's Witness Dad After 2 Years and It Derailed My Healing Journey

Hi friends, I just wanted to do a quick check-in. Recently, I’ve been struggling mentally after meeting with my dad for the first time in almost two years. Healing after leaving this cult is anything but easy—no matter how much progress you think you’ve made, something can come along and set you back. My journey will always be honest, so I’m not just going to share the “good” moments. The hard ones matter too! That said, I am proud of myself. Even in this setback, I didn’t shrink back into old patterns of people-pleasing like I would have in the past. That shows me my healing is real and still working.
