Its current form dates back to re-signalling in 2007, with control being via CCTV from Havant's signalling centre, potentially up for re-signalling and re-control to Basingstoke in the next few years. The crossing can be very poorly operated at times, being lowered far too early, or left lowered for far too long when there's ample time to raise the barriers without causing trains any delay.
