Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (PS2) | Hydro Thunder | All Tracks

Developed by Midway and released in February 1999 for arcades, powerboat arcade racing at it's greatest. Hydro Thunder's success in the arcades landed it to consoles in starting in September 1999 for the SEGA Dreamcast. It also got a N64 (Nintendo 64) and PlayStation port in 2000 with conversion help from developers Eurocom (known for the N64 port of Cruis'n World) and Blue Shift. The Dreamcast version was rereleased to the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube in 2005 part of the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 compilation which is what you see here on-screen. Midway Arcade Treasures 3 is the third installment of the Midway Arcade Treasures series of compilation titles of classic Midway arcade video games. MAT3 was developed by three studios: Backbone Entertainment, Gamestar, and Midway Games San Diego. The game was published by Digital Eclipse and released in 2005 as a compilation of eight classic Midway arcade racing games for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. MAT3 includes eight games; Badlands (1989), Offroad Thunder (1999), Race Drivin' (1990), San Francisco Rush: The Rock - Alcatraz Edition (1997), S.T.U.N. Runner (1989), Super Off Road (including its upgrade/add-on pack, Super Off Road Track Pack) [1989], Hydro Thunder (1999), and San Francisco Rush 2049 (1999). A couple of interesting notes about this MAT3 compilation: Midway had plans to create a double pack for both San Francisco Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder under the name "Hydro Rush" for the PlayStation 2, but for unknown reasons the game was canned and the project moved to Midway Arcade Treasures 3. Both Hydro Thunder and Rush 2049 are included in the later Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition for PC. Neither versions are based on the arcade original, but rather the Dreamcast port. However the Catacombs track from the Dreamcast version is not in the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 and Deluxe Edition versions. What you are looking at here is a full playthrough of all the tracks in the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 port PlayStation 2 port of Hydro Thunder.
