Dividing Musa Basjoo Plant for the First Time

In this video, I am dividing my Musa Basjoo hardy banana plant pup for the first time. I jump right into it using a garden fork and a landscaping shovel because my partner was using my spade—sometimes you just have to work with what you have! ​Off-camera, I also used a hand saw to cut through the tough rhizome join to get the pups free from the main plant. ​After separating the offshoot, I potted it up and added bone meal to help stimulate early root growth. To finish off and prevent transplant shock, I watered them in using Alga-Sol Organic Liquid Seaweed to help the new roots establish quickly. Thanks for watching!
