Historia de Rusia: siglos de imperialismo, guerras y represión
With 17 million km², Russia is the largest nation on the planet. From its westernmost to its easternmost point, it stretches 9,000 km across nine time zones. But how were successive authoritarian regimes able to annex so much territory throughout history? It achieved this after centuries of conquests paid for with the tributes of the serfs: without them, the Russian Empire was nothing. That system still inspires admiration in the current president, which is why understanding Russia's history explains its aggression against Ukraine. A report by Laura Iglesias San Martín and Mariano Ramírez Gisbert for #dwanaliza, with the collaboration of historian Jaime González Arguedas and journalist Ricardo Marquina Montañana.
