The Muppets at the Royal Variety Performance 1977 (Lost Media)
DISCLAIMER: THIS VIDEO IS NOT MADE FOR KIDS THIS IS ONLY MADE FOR TEENS & ADULTS WHO LIKE THE MUPPETS OR PEOPLE WHO ARE INTO LOST MEDIA EVERYONE CAN ENJOY THIS AND SAY WHAT THEY WANT IN THE COMMENTS Here are appearances of the Muppets cast at the 1977 Royal Variety Performance. For over forty years footage of this appearance of the Muppets characters and performers was lost for a very long time as only photos were the only remaining of the appearances existence. Information of the appearances of the Muppet characters and performers at the show was sometime posted on April 6, 2019. (at least according to the Wayback Machine) Even screenshots of the show was posted on the page but no footage of it was still available online. It wouldn’t be until on January 14, 2021, Twitter user Ken Plume, posted a clip from the show of an appearance of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Scooter, Floyd, Animal, Rowlf and Robin singing We Got Us, which the song was previously used in Episode 211 of The Muppet Show, as Miss Piggy and Dom DeLuise performed the song in that episode. A year later on September 8, 2022, a clip of the show of Jim Henson and Frank Oz was posted on Facebook by the Muppet Wiki account. But very recently, a stock footage site called Lola Clips uploaded the full appearances of the Muppet characters and the Muppet performers. Which all the footage of them correlates the information on the Muppet wiki, with Kermit and his friends singing We Got Us, Statler and Waldorf sitting in the box opposite the royal family, make the occasional comment between acts, The Mutations, Mean Mama, Sweetums, Doglion and Timmy Monster do a choreographed dance act to a classical piece by Jacques Offenbach, the finale of the show, and Bob Hope brings out the performers on stage. Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt and Dave Goelz come on stage with Sweetums, Timmy, Mean Mama and Doglion. The only thing that’s missing is that after the performance, Mean Mama, performed by Louise Gold, surprises Prince Charles by giving him a hug. Which footage of that is not included in this show, at least the one that’s available online, although it’s possible that part wasn’t filmed, but since there’s no definitive answer whether it was filmed or not, for now I guess we’ll never know. Probably the most well known thing about this show is the photo of the Muppet performers Dave Golez, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, and the Muppet character Sweetums meeting Queen Elizabeth II, even though the footage of that moment is not available in this show, we do get to see Jim Henson and Frank Oz meeting Queen Elizabeth II. So there’s that at least. So after 46 years, footage of the Muppets cast and performers appearances at the 1977 Royal Variety Performance has finally been found. So enjoy this extremely rare piece of Muppets and Jim Henson history. Sources: https://lolaclips.com/footage-archive/itv_... https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Royal_Varie...
