Blood | HISTOLOGY | Part A

Blood histology is the microscopic study of blood tissue, focusing on its cellular components and plasma. As a specialized connective tissue, blood plays a vital role in transportation, regulation, and protection within the human body. Under the microscope, blood is composed of three primary types of blood cells—red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes), and platelets (thrombocytes)—suspended in a protein-rich fluid called plasma. Erythrocytes are biconcave, anucleate cells that transport oxygen via hemoglobin. Leukocytes, including lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils, are involved in immune defense. #paramedical #anatomy #science #biology #medical #usmleprep #usmlestep1videos #mbbsstudent #mbbsadmission #medicalstudentslife #medicalcollege
