Behind the Fashion of Punjabi Sikhs || The 5 K’s of Sikhism
Gain A Deeper Understanding into the world-famous “5 K’s of Sikhism”. As I met, befriended, and chatted with Sikh’s in Amritsar, India, it became apparent to me that their fashion was equally as important to them as their religion. As a matter of fact, pieces to their fashion are an integral part of their religion. Of course, this made me curious of where these religious objects originated and who was still wearing them. Are Sikhs abiding by the 5 K's? Why does everyone wears a sword on their hip? While intimidating, the truth behind it is fascinating. Join me as I talk with the head of Sikh research at The Golden Temple, a student who was raised to be a passionate devotee of Sikhism, and the master of genuine sword making.
