Projects, ideas, and innovations from the Dolce Passione Consortium were presented in Cesenatico on a historic seaside terrace at Bagno Milano. Consortium Director Luciano Trentini and members attended: Ombretta Colombani of Cico-Mazzoni, Luigi Castello of Ortofrutta Castello, and Giovanni Lorenzini of Lorenzini Naturamica. Sandro Colombi of Known-you Seed presented the Consortium's varietal innovation projects. The evening centered on a dinner where every course—from welcome aperitif to dessert—included a touch of Dolce Passione, interpreted by chef Mauro Spadoni. Consortium members reviewed achievements and future goals for this 100% Italian watermelon. The Dolce Passione watermelon has received significant market response, expanding from its initial production of 60 hectares to the current 370 hectares, cultivated in 11 Italian regions, allowing the product to be available from May to October. The product is meeting the tastes of both Italian and international consumers, where the Dolce Passione Consortium is seeing increased sales. In 2025, foreign markets accounted for over 50% of the Consortium's total production. The product's destinations are Northern Europe and Western Asia.
