Draft Talk: Bennett Stirtz — Shotmaking, Pick-and-Roll Craft, and the Raptors Fit Question

Draft Talk is back, and today we’re shifting from bigs to guards. ‪@BeyondLocker2013‬ ‪@coachroach‬ This is a strong guard class, and one name that’s been popping for me lately is Bennett Stirtz (Iowa) — a 6’4 guard (listed), senior, and a player who’s producing at a level that forces you to take him seriously. Stirtz is averaging roughly 20 points, about 4.6 assists, and shooting splits that jump off the page: ~51% from the field, 39.5% from three, and 84% from the line. He also gets to the stripe a lot, which matters for projecting scoring translation. He’s not much of a rebounder (around 2.5 a game), but his overall profile is “skilled guard who knows how to play.” So what is he, really?
