DIY Body Wash Powder! Simple and Easy Body Wash Recipe!
Today I'm going to show you how to make DIY body wash powder & how to personalize it. This body wash recipe is very simple and only requires a few ingredients…. And it also performs amazingly; just a tiny bit produces tons of suds! RECIPE 100 grams baking soda, 100 grams citric acid, 100 grams dendritic salt, 75 grams SLSa 35 milliliters fragrance oil, 20 milliliters alcohol, 20 milliliters liquid surfactant (cocamidopropyl betaine), 3 milliliter polysorbate 80. Baking soda and citric acid are the perfect base because they activate when wet then dry to a coarse consistency. The salt aids in a better pouring consistency. The powder surfactant [like sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa), sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI), or sodium coco sulfate (SCS)] is a cleanser and creates foam, lather, & bubbles. Thin liquids, like alcohol and cocamidopropyl betaine, activate the dry ingredients where it puffs up, then deflates, which makes the mixture dry quicker, more thoroughly, & coarse. The alcohol gives the powder a coarse texture. Cocamidopropyl betaine is also a cleanser and foam booster. The polysorbate 80 emulsifies the wet ingredients together so stay mixed. Sieve baking soda, citric acid, & salt together. Mix wet ingredients together separately. Add the wet ingredients to activate the mixture. Mix everything together well. Spread the mixture out on parchment paper; break big clumps into smaller ones. Dry it 2 hours. Break up chunks. Once mixture is semi-dry, add the powder surfactant {if you saturate it with liquid, it becomes almost impossible to dry fully}. Add color powder. Grind the mixture together then lay it flat and allow it to fully dry (about 24 hours). Grind it once more to make sure the powder's final consistency is even and pours well. If it's sort of clumping together, you can add additional salt or citric acid until it's perfect (I added about 1 cup additional salt to this recipe). Sieve the powder. Leave it plain or personalize it. Definitely go easy on the personal touches; only add just a tiny bit of 1 or maybe 2 of them. Use a shaker jar lid. Add a couple of silica gel packets to keep the body wash dry and clump free. The final body wash powder consistency should be easy to shake and pour. You can also use this as bubble bath (although I'd add at least double the amount of powder surfactant for bubble bath). **Do you enjoy my content? Do you sell creations made from my recipes?
