My First Jummah in Türkiye Hit Different 🇹🇷
Today’s Muslim travel vlog takes you with me for my first Jummah (Friday prayer) in Türkiye – and what started as a spiritual day ended in one of the most unexpected and fun adventures of our Turkey trip so far. This is a full day of life in Bursa as a British Muslim, combining faith, halal food, Islamic culture, and unique experiences you don’t often see in travel videos about Turkey. We started our morning by walking over to the famous Grand Mosque of Bursa (Ulu Cami) for Jummah prayer. One thing I found so fascinating is how the Friday khutbah (sermon) is broadcasted across all the mosques in the city at the same time. When we arrived, it was already packed — women, men, children — it felt more like a full day out for the entire community. The inside of the mosque was beautiful but crowded and very hot. Still, the atmosphere was special, and praying Jummah there was a moment I won’t forget. After Jummah, we explored the streets of Bursa where I tried looking for some halal swim shorts — part of the everyday experience of being a Muslim traveler trying to stay modest on the go. We then headed back to our hotel and grabbed some traditional Turkish food — including manti (Turkish dumplings) and a local sausage sandwich that was absolutely packed with flavor. There was a bit of drama as the waitress mixed up our order and the owner wasn’t too happy about it — but alhamdulillah, the food was amazing. Later in the day, we caught a bus (and then a taxi) to the Bursa Extrempark, which we didn’t realize was such a long journey. But subhanAllah — the views when we arrived were next level. You could see all of Bursa from above, surrounded by greenery and mountain air. The park had ziplining, an alpine coaster, and other fun outdoor activities for families and couples. We bought tickets for the alpine coaster and laughed the whole way — it was one of the highlights of the trip. Before heading home, we bought some ice cream, prayed in a small mosque on-site, and just took in the peaceful vibes of Bursa. This day perfectly captured what it’s like living as a Muslim, experiencing both spirituality and fun in a halal, respectful way. 📍Filmed in Bursa, Türkiye 📆 This is Episode 4 of my Turkey daily vlog series 🎯 Perfect for anyone looking for: halal travel in Turkey, Muslim vlogs, Jummah abroad, and family-friendly fun in Islamic countries. 👇 Follow my journey exploring Islam around the world: 📲 TikTok: @Islam.Lewis 📸 Instagram: @IslamLewis 🔔 Subscribe for more Turkey vlogs, Muslim lifestyle content, and daily travel episodes around the Islamic world. #turkeyvlog #bursavlog #muslimvlog #jummahinturkey #halaltravel #britishmuslim #turkishfood #grandmosquebursa #bursaturkey #halallifestyle #islaminturkey #dailyvlog #travelvlog #alpinecoaster #halalvlog #exploringturkey #islamictravel #vlogseries #turkey2025
