SMELLY KID: 25 YEARS LATER

Most people who follow me online only see the end result. The crazy life. The cars, The money, The social media clips, The madness. What they don’t see is where it all started. I grew up in the north inner city of Dublin, Ireland during the heroin epidemic of the 1990s. I was raised in poverty surrounded by addiction, violence and chaos. As a kid I was bullied badly, constantly dirty, constantly hungry and eventually became known as “Smelly Kid”. 25 years later I went back to the exact places that shaped my childhood. The apartment blocks I grew up in. The school where I was bullied. The women’s refuge we ended up in after being dragged from our home. The beach at Sunshine House which became my only escape as a child. The last place I ever saw my mum alive. And the streets where I became homeless at just 15 years old. This documentary is not about fame or social media. This is the real story behind Andy Lee. This is Smelly Kid: 25 Years Later.
