This moist chocolate cake is soft, rich, and full of cocoa flavor. It is soaked with a milk syrup that makes every bite tender, delicious, and irresistibly fudgy. Perfect for tea time, special occasions, or whenever you want an easy homemade dessert that everyone will love. Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe Ingredients For the cake 4 large eggs 200 g granulated sugar (1 cup) 200 ml milk (1 cup) 150 ml vegetable oil (¾ cup) 250 g flour (about 2 cups) 30 g cocoa powder (3 heaping tablespoons) 10 g baking powder (1 packet) 1 packet vanilla A pinch of salt For the soaking sauce 625 ml milk 150 g granulated sugar 40 g cocoa powder 100 ml vegetable oil Instructions Preparing the cake 1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) top and bottom heat. 2. Beat the eggs and sugar for 4–5 minutes until pale and fluffy. 3. Add the milk and vegetable oil and mix briefly. 4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla, and salt. 5. Sift the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until you get a smooth cake batter. 6. Pour the batter into a greased pan or a pan lined with parchment paper. 7. Bake in the preheated oven. Baking time 170°C (340°F) top and bottom heat: 30–35 minutes 160°C (320°F) fan oven: 28–32 minutes Baking time may vary from oven to oven. The most reliable method is to insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. It should not come out with raw batter, but a few moist crumbs are fine. If the top has risen slightly and springs back when touched, the cake is done. Important: The most common mistake with moist chocolate cake is overbaking. If you wait until the toothpick comes out completely dry, the cake may turn out dry even if it absorbs the sauce. Preparing the sauce While the cake is baking, place the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and vegetable oil in a saucepan. Heat gently without boiling, just until the sugar has completely dissolved. You may also add vanilla sugar if you like. The sauce should remain warm. Soaking the cake 1. After removing the cake from the oven, let it rest for 10 minutes. 2. Use a fork to poke holes all over the cake. 3. Slowly pour about three-quarters of the sauce over the cake. 4. Wait 20 minutes. 5. Pour the remaining sauce over the top. 6. If possible, let it rest in the refrigerator overnight. This helps the cake absorb the sauce better and makes the flavor and color even more delicious. Enjoy!
