The Montana Rail Link on a Coal Train, Amtrak 19, a Local and an NS Grain Combo

We start this video with a short CSX local pulling out of the yard with a string of sand hoppers. Usually CSX serves this plant on weekdays but occasionally they will bring by a few on the weekend. We check out the area and down at Jefferson street is the tail end of a BNSF coal train, and the rear DPU is a Montana Rail Link. We don't see those much so I will be going down there for a better shot after Amtrak passes through. Until then we watch the CSX local work the sand plant. And along comes Amtrak 19 with a nice new Siemens unit up front and an older GE second. We follow it down to the bridge and around the bend at Inman yard. Then we pack up and drive over to Jefferson street to get some good close ups of the Montana Rail Link. A fine looking EMD locomotive. Then we head back to Howell wye and catch some CSX engines running light. Looks like an SD40 perhaps on the lead and a YN2 on the rear. The local is picking up the empties to make room for the loads. And over on the other side at Inman another BNSF EMD works a stack. And then along comes a freight off the Greenville. This one is an odd one. Kind of looks like NS 153 but with a bunch of grain hoppers thrown in. And next off the same line is a stack train going into Inman. The BNSF coal train is gone but we have something else sitting at Jefferson street so we'll see that in the next video.
