Swami Krishnananda - O Caminho Espiritual
Quotes and excerpts from the book "The Ascent of the Spirit" by Swami Krishnananda. Born in Puttur (India), Subbaraya or Swami Krishnananda Saraswati (1922 - 2001) was a great master of Yoga and Vedanta, a writer, and a direct disciple of Swami Sivananda. From a young age, Krishnananda dedicated himself to the study of Sanskrit works such as the Mahabharata, the Upanishads, etc. Although his family belonged to a traditional Madhva lineage (which follows the philosophy of dualism), Krishnananda dedicated himself to the Advaita philosophy of Shankaracharya. In the summer of 1944, his desire for seclusion and the unknown call of the Master led him to Rishikesh, where he met Swami Sivananda, who initiated him into the monastic order. Later, Swami Krishnananda also became a renowned spiritual master, guiding countless seekers along the path of Self-Realization. As an author, Krishnananda developed more than 40 books until his death in 2001. Thus, Krishnananda spent his life in Ashrams, giving lectures and writing, promoting the study of sacred texts and transmitting profound teachings on the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, Yoga, Bhakti, and other aspects of Hinduism. 📚 Check out our list of recommendations: https://www.amazon.com.br/shop/corvoseco “The true self does not move; for if it did move, there would have to be another to know its movement, and a third being to know this second being, and so on to infinity. The Self is pure consciousness, whose existence cannot be denied or even doubted, since no one has ever been seen to doubt their own existence. Even the denial of the Self would have as its background the consciousness of having denied it. This consciousness is the indubitable Self of all, which always affirms itself as the ‘I’ in all forms of experience.” Swami Krishnananda. “When true knowledge arises, we are happy. When true knowledge arises, we give fearlessness to all; and when true knowledge arises, we too are fearless, and no one can frighten us.” Swami Krishnananda. “The Infinite alone is bliss; there is no bliss in the small and the finite. Finitude is resented, and every finite being struggles to overcome its limitation, for the love of individual life is the greatest of loves, and the fear of death is the greatest of fears.” Swami Krishnananda.
