07 11 2026 Final

A very fun race! Practice was trouble free. Qualifying lasted only one and three quarters laps. Then the engine ground itself to pieces. I was not able to get the spare on before the prefinal race. So, we started the final from the last row. The bonus was, our tires were fresh! My start wasn't the best. I hadn't had a chance to do any carburetion testing on this engine. Once the race got going, I was able to make some passes and move up. There was one very close call when #19 threw his chain. After that, the engine began to overheat. The temps went up over 340 degrees F. I was able to work my way up to 2nd in my class/4th overall. I kept richening the mixture because of the temperature. As I did that the acceleration off the corners was less. The kart kept getting slower and slower, even on the straights. Finally, on the last turn of the last lap, kart #45 got underneath me and beat me to the finish line. Yep, a very fun race! Congratulations to Charles (#007) on the 125cc Heavy victory. JC (#45) on his last corner pass. Liam (#55) for the 125cc light win. And to Mark (#38) on the 100cc victory. Thanks to everyone that showed up on a very hot July day!
