Since this was my first day in the country, when information for tourists was almost nonexistent – ​​I had to figure everything out for myself. At the airport, I was warned not to take pictures of soldiers or government buildings, and was even told that they could arrest or execute a person for taking such a picture – so I took it seriously. I started on a train that makes a tour of the city, to see the real face of Yangon – people living in poverty and difficult conditions. From there, I continued to Shwedagon Pagoda – the most sacred and impressive site in the country, which for me represents a complete dissonance between wealth and poverty. Throughout the day, I repeatedly encountered military checkpoints and soldiers, and I had to hide my camera almost all the time. It was a mentally challenging day, but I believe the result speaks for itself.
