How to Build a Fireplace Mantel - Floating Shelf | Woodworking

This fireplace mantel/floating shelf is made from Walnut and has a satin finish. All edges are mitered together. I used glue blocks instead of tape to assist in clamping the miters because the miters are so long that I didn't want to take any chances on the tape breaking before the glue set or during assembly.
