You won't see me on camera during the pre-show all that much, but I'm actually DJing these tracks, simply because I don't like automation. You'll hear all kinds of great stuff in the hip-hop block, including DJ Skrew, Bone Thugs, Biz Markie, DMX, and a few Tarantino soundtrack tunes. More importantly, though... It's live remix time. Right around the 22:00 mark, you'll hear some live, on-the-spot remixing with a few acapellas, a TR-8S, and the MPC One. Everything's connected via a combination of USB and old-school MIDI. So if you're wondering why you've never heard this medley of Ludacris, 50Cent, and NWA, it's because the thing was performed on the spot and recorded once. The Transformers samples were digitized from a recent vinyl soundtrack release, then sampled and hotcued in Traktor. At about 1:01:00, you get the oldest trick in the book, if you've been to Houston. RIP, DJ Skrew. The dance/EDM/house/whatevz block kicks in at about 2:13. Wait a minute... (2:32) Is the genre called freestyle or is that the group? 2:25 or so. Our dancers are frozen again. This happens a lot with some video files. Problem is I sometimes can't see the monitor, so I miss the chance to skip to the next video. I notice eventually. 3:16 From Ministry to "Forever Ravers."
