Deixa a Gira Girar from Raízes Do Samba - Fall 2015

Samba Fogo Band and Dance Company performing "Deixa a Gira Girar" in their Fall 2015 concert (Raízes Do Samba) at Rose Wagner Center in Salt Lake City. Written by Os Tincoã, this song pays tribute to many of the Orixa in the Brazilian pantheon. With this song, Samba Fogo will perform movements for the Orixa Oya, goddess of wind, seductress and owner of the cemetery, who controls and owns fire and can create tornadoes by spinning. Musical arrangement inspired by Tres Meninas do Brasil, choreography inspired by Mametto, drum arrangement set on Samba Fogo by Eduardo “Dudu” Fuentes.
