44871 & The Bath & Bristol Christmas Express - Saturday 2nd December 2023

Saturday 2nd December 2023 saw 44871 haul another Christmas Market trip for the Railway Touring Company with the Three Bridges to Bath & Bristol Christmas Express. This is the longest video I've managed to produce & the coldest too as the footage in places show. This is also the second coldest trip I've experienced in all the years I've been doing main line work. The footage starts at Three Bridges & finishes at Bathampton Junction on the outskirts of Bath where the memory card within the GoPro is filled to it's maximum. On leaving Southall in West London, there was a low dense fog which stayed pretty much with us on the outward journey & the freezing conditions made it a bitterly cold trip. Due to the freezing & damp conditions, there are a couple of places where the GoPro lens mists over but thankfully it manages to sort itself out but between Salisbury & Westbury, I've had to cut some footage out as it is completely blurred & nothing is visible. This is my final footage from the Christmas Market trains for 2023 & I just want to say a massive thank you to all the new subscribers that have hit that button over the last few weeks, I am still in shock to see the subscribers pass the 1,000 mark for something that am privileged to be able to do in my support crew capacity for Rileys.
