PT 1 DIY CARBON FIBER UAV BODY #diyprojects #carbonfiber #aircraft
Starting from a styrofoam aircraft kit, our intern Harry will be DIY-ing a full carbon fiber UAV body, from a splash plug to the final model. Using the techniques from this series, you will be able to make the entire aircraft yourself from home. This series is designed for people who have some beginning knowledge and understanding of composites, but is not advanced by any means. Part 1 is making a splash plug. A splash plug (or splash mold) is using an existing part to pull a mold off of. Items used in video: AtomRC Dolphin Kit (https://www.defiancerc.com/collection...) Cardboard Gaffer tape (anything similar to duct tape works) Tacky tape DuraTec Grey Surface Primer MEKP catalyst (2% of Surface Primer quantity) Acetone (~10% of Surface Primer quantity to lower viscosity)
