Launch of the Romanian Hub of the European Law Institute: Panel I (EN)
The “Acad. Andrei Rădulescu” Legal Research Institute of the Romanian Academy organized the official launch event of the Romanian Hub of the European Law Institute (ELI), held on 16 June 2026, between 10:00 and 14:00, in the Assembly Hall of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest. The event marked the formal establishment and public launch of the Romanian Hub of the European Law Institute, a European legal cooperation structure permanently hosted by the “Acad. Andrei Rădulescu” Legal Research Institute of the Romanian Academy, which will provide the institutional framework, administrative support, and secretariat services for the Romanian Hub. The launch of the Romanian Hub took place in the presence of Professor Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell, President of the European Law Institute, whose participation added a significant European and institutional dimension to the event. The European Law Institute (ELI) is one of the most prestigious independent legal organizations in Europe, bringing together more than 1,800 individual members and over 180 institutional members, including universities, academies, supreme courts, European institutions, and international organizations. ELI’s mission is to contribute to the development and improvement of European law through research, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the formulation of legal solutions adapted to contemporary challenges. The establishment of the Romanian Hub therefore represents a landmark moment for the Romanian legal community, facilitating the direct connection of Romania’s academic and professional legal environment to the projects, debates, and initiatives developed under the auspices of ELI. The programme included the official launch ceremony of the Romanian Hub, as well as a scientific session dedicated to the theme: “New Frontiers of Law: Contemporary Challenges in the Digital and Multipolar Era.” 10:00–11:45 – PANEL I Launch of the ELI Romanian Hub: Romania in the European Legal Dialogue Moderator: Dr. Radu STANCU 1.
