The theme of this video was "Is Bocchi-chan's pink tracksuit an obsession with identity?" However, the "obsession" discussed in this video is based on the DSM-5 diagnostic criterion B-②. While the fundamental concept is the same as Wing's definition of an obsession in autism spectrum disorder, they are not exactly the same. Wing's definition of an obsession in autism spectrum disorder is broad and without boundaries, while the DSM diagnostic criterion defines an obsession with specific boundaries. This video explores the meaning of Wing's autism spectrum and its impact on the world, tracing its history and implications. In the video, I mentioned, "Wouldn't Bocchi-chan be looked at strangely if she was the only one wearing a pink tracksuit while everyone else was wearing a uniform?" and "Wouldn't that atmosphere be seen as an inflexible fixation?" However, another interpretation might be, "No, that kind of atmosphere certainly exists, and her inability to adapt to it, and her refusal to wear a uniform, and her constant wearing of the same pink tracksuit, is an obsession." This logic suggests that the atmosphere and environment of a school classroom can be seen as a reflection of "social demands and pressures from others and society." However, while wearing a uniform is permissible if it's explicitly stated as a rule, the inability to sense the atmosphere and dress accordingly is a social issue, and this should be considered separately from an obsession with uniformity. Furthermore, even when deriving social requirements from the atmosphere, there's also the perspective that "if pink tracksuits are permitted by the rules, then it should be okay to wear them; that's the current social atmosphere." This video sets aside the issue of social skills, such as being able to read the atmosphere or understanding what kind of atmosphere it is, and instead examines the issue from the standpoint of whether one can be flexible in dressing according to explicitly stated rules. The atmosphere is an invisible, ever-changing, ambiguous thing... Considering our society and sociality in this way, interpreting DSM B-② "obsession with uniformity, inflexible attachment to everyday behavior" becomes very difficult.
