01/09/2023 Lesson on " Differences between access sites" - DCB Academy
Differences between vascular access sites (01/09/2023) Vascular access is a crucial aspect of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It involves gaining access to a peripheral artery, usually the radial or femoral artery, to perform coronary angiography or PCI. While the radial and femoral arteries are the most commonly used access sites, the brachial and ulnar arteries may also be used in some cases. Bleeding at the access site is a known risk of PCI, making careful selection of the access site an important consideration. This lesson will cover important considerations and recommendations for selecting the best access site for PCI.
