10 Men Sky Blues WIN Again! | Bristol City vs Coventry City 0-2 #ccfc

Me and Charlie travelled down to Ashton Gate to follow the Sky Blues as Coventry City took on Bristol City in another massive Championship game. Before heading to the ground we stopped off for a couple of pre-match drinks and checked out a venue called Bristol Beer Factory, which was a great little spot to soak up some pre-match atmosphere before making our way over to Ashton Gate. Once we got there we met up with a few friends and some fans of the channel, got the usual score predictions in (I went bold with 4-1 to Coventry), and then it was time for kick-off. The first half was a really interesting one. Bristol City actually started well and had a lot of the ball early on, but it was Coventry City who struck first when Tatsuhiro Sakamoto rose at the back post to head home in the 37th minute and give the Sky Blues the lead. Not long after that the game took a huge twist when Joel Latibeaudiere was shown a straight red card, leaving Coventry to play the remainder of the match with 10 men. Despite being down a man, Coventry kept pushing and right at the end of the half Haji Wright doubled the lead in stoppage time, scoring in 45+ minutes to make it 2-0 going into the break. It was Wright’s 16th goal of the season, continuing his incredible campaign for the Sky Blues. With Coventry down to ten men, Frank Lampard made some tactical adjustments and the team really had to dig deep in the second half. The game swung again when Bristol City were also reduced to 10 men, levelling things up and turning it into a proper battle. From there it was about resilience. Coventry defended brilliantly and Carl Rushworth pulled off some massive saves to keep the clean sheet and secure a huge 0-2 away win. This victory makes it five wins in a row for Coventry City and keeps the Sky Blues top of the Championship table on 74 points, sitting eight points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough (who still have a game in hand) with the promotion race really heating up. The belief around this team right now is unbelievable. The fans are fully behind the lads, the momentum is there, and performances like this — winning away from home while playing with 10 men for a big part of the match — are exactly the kind of results that promotion campaigns are built on.
