Part 1 - Introduction to Physical Pharmacy

Physical pharmacy and biopharmaceutics is the study of the relationship between the physical chemical and biological properties and the fate of a drug in vivo, in order to design an optimized dosage form, while Physical chemistry is concerned with interactions and transformations of materials and it deals with the principles of physics underlying all chemical interactions (e.g., gas laws), seeking to measure, correlate, and explain the quantitative aspects of reactions. Both studies are critical to drug and drug product design hence this lecture.
