Differential Inspection what to look for Ford 8.8
Today's Video is a inspection of my Ford 8.8 that I picked up for the wrecker a little while ago. This differenterial came out of a 1998 ford explorer that has 4.10 gears and limited slip. Everything is being stripped and rebuild however if you change differential oil and find a overly large amount of metallic fillings or even bits of metal that is something to be concerned about. You will always find metallic fillings as normal wear and tear. You need to inspect the Crown and Pinion Gear to make sure they aren't chipped or damaged.
