Now why am I specifically talking about trauma survivors when it comes to limerence. The reason is because when you understand what limerence is - by definition it's almost like this uncontrollable obsession that you get to someone someone this uncontrollable almost unconscious need to have that person reciprocate their affection for you. So when I hear - unconscious, this uncontrollable part of you that is just flaring on and making you feel this intense need it makes me think of what's unconscious. If it's not conscious then it's what is unconscious inside that is causing these limerent feelings. What is in our unconscious is unprocessed trauma. So - the reason why I want to make this connection and help trauma survivors understand the danger of limerence is because you can wind up creating the same kinds of toxic relationships over and over and who wants that??So first of all when I say trauma survivors it can be that you went through emotional trauma maybe by a narcissistic parent, narcissistic family but it can also be that you had parents with addictions or maybe you had parents that loved you but maybe you had a single parent that had to work so much that your emotional needs weren't meant or maybe your parents were emotionally unavailable. Any of those scenarios can cause emotional trauma. And it's that emotional trauma that comes alive when you see a limerent object. Michele Lee Nieves is a life and relationship coach specializing in narcissistic abuse recovery and complex ptsd recovery. She is the founder of the Thrivers School of Transformation which is a monthly membership where trauma survivors meet live weekly and work through the side effects of emotional trauma, narcissistic abuse and complex ptsd together. This is an international community - you do not have to heal alone! danger of limerence, limerence and trauma survivors, limerence and love obsession, limerence and narcissistic relationships, why do I keep attracting narcissists, why do I keep attracting emotionally unavailable people, complex ptsd and limerence, unhealed trauma and limerence, unhealed trauma and toxic relationships
