Whatever happened, our hopes came after "Şaban." After 1979, the films he starred in were cut short. Then, of course, when the 1980 coup came, old pines became glasses. New actors and new names emerged. Many veterans of cinema are blacklisted. When cinema doors are closed to them, a period of depression begins.
