NAVEEKARANA KALASAM A Naveekaranakalasam was held in the temple from 4th to 14th May 2014 after a long gap of more than 100 years. The Kalasam was performed under the leadership of temple's ThanthriBrahmasreeNedumbillyTharananellurSathisanNamboodiripad with all religious rituals and festivals. It was organized by NaveekaranaKalasa Committee constituted under the chief patronage of Sri ThekkemadhomMooppilSwamiyar, Thrissur. With the blessings of SreeVamanaMoorthy and the whole hearted support of devotees and general public, the Kalasam became a grand festival. The devotees felt that the kalasam brought material prosperity and spiritualwelfare of the people and place. The rituals were started on 4th May with 'Acharyavaranam' by giving 'Koora and Pavithram' by Temple Ooralan Sri Pattachomayarath Krishnan Namboodiri. Annadanam and various cultural programmes like Ottamthullal, Kathakali, Pathakam, ChakyarKoothu etc. were conducted during these days. The 'PunaPrathishta' (reinstallation of idol) was performed on the eighth day ie; 11th May. The Kalasam was concluded on 14th May by reopening ceremony or 'Nadathurappu' and special poojas and abhishekams.
