Growing Papaya Trees from Seeds, Days 103-152

My papaya seedlings are coming along nicely. I sprayed imidacloprid pesticide and myclobutanil fungicide pre-emptively to protect my young seedlings from future complications. Spraying fungicide really removed the brakes on growth for my pomegranate seedling, so I figured there may be a lot of benefit to be derived from doing the same for my papaya seedlings, due to their high susceptibility to fungal infections, at least in the beginning phase. The stem thickness of this species is a wonder to behold: papaya trees have no problems growing upright and do not flop all over the place like many other fruit-bearing "trees." I started watering the backup pot with distilled water only to avoid salting the sand the clay soil over time. The main pot seedling is more advanced in its development than the backup seedling, but the difference is not yet big due to the slow growing nature of this species.
