Tiago's skates: https://amzn.to/2vKFeuO ----- Tiago's channel:    / @tiagoinlineskater   ------ You may have already heard me talk about rockered or banana-shaped frames in freestyle videos. With Tiago, known on YouTube as Tiago the French inline skater, we'll tell you all about the advantages and disadvantages of rockered frames compared to classic ones. 1/ What is a rockered setup? It's having the front and rear wheels raised by 2 to 4 millimeters. 4 millimeters is the most common difference. 2/ How do you get a rockered setup? 1- You buy a frame that comes pre-configured this way. 2- You buy four wheels smaller than the ones on your skates. Example: if you have 80mm wheels, buy four 76mm wheels. Be careful, if your wheels are too worn, they may already be 76mm. In that case, buy a new set of four 80mm wheels to maintain a 4mm difference between the outer and middle wheels. Note: some frames, like the FR2, allow you to switch from flat to rockered by simply turning a screw. 3/ Can you jump with them? Yes, but it requires practice, and you'll always be less stable than with a flat setup. 4/ Do you accelerate faster? Not particularly, according to Tiago's experience. 5/ Do you skate faster? No, it's actually slower. 6/ ADVANTAGES Allows for easier turning and facilitates freestyle tricks. 7/ Who are they for? Experienced freeskaters who prioritize extreme maneuverability and freestylers. Frames with a classic setup will be more stable during skating and jumps. This setup is better suited to beginners and freeskaters who prioritize stability over extreme maneuverability. ------ ► If you want to quickly gain confidence on rollerblades, here's my second WORKSHOP: "Rollerblading with Confidence": http://bonheuraroulettes.fr/assurance... ► For a daily video of an inspiring freeskate, freestyle, or slide move, click the link below.
