TARPORLEY | strolling around a beautiful Cheshire village on an early summer morning

Welcome, or welcome back, to Wanderlust Walks! Thank you for being here. Today we are exploring the beautiful Cheshire village, Tarporley. Located in the North West of England, Tarporley is considered to be one of the county's most attractive villages. The village of Tarporley itself is located close by to a prehistoric settlement site. Several prehistoric artefacts have been discovered within close proximity of the present-day village: a Neolithic stone axe, a flint scraper and a Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrow head. The village is listed in the Domesday Book as “Toepelei”, which has been interpreted from Old English as meaning “a pear wood near a hill”. Tarporley Hunt Club, the oldest surviving hunt club in England, meets in the village every Christmas. We hope you enjoy coming along on this peaceful walk with us!
