4K - Heritage on the Surfline: Amtrak 156 (Phase I Heritage Unit) in Summer 2018

Back in late July and throughout August of 2018, Amtrak P42DC #156 was in service on the Pacific Surfliner. Painted in the historic Phase I paint scheme for Amtrak, this unit was a welcome sight to see here in Southern California! In addition to being power on regularly scheduled trains, 156 was also used as the protect power at the Santa Fe Depot in Downtown San Diego. This provided me with a unique opportunity to watch the switching operations of 156 in Downtown San Diego. The unit was tacked onto the rear of a Southbound train, then switched into position from track 3 to track 2. All locations listed in video. Thanks for watching!
