My guest is Fr. John Valadez, a priest at St. Timothy Orthodox Church in Lompoc, CA. Growing up in Orange County, Fr. John was jaded by its fakeness and gravitated to punk rock as a rebellion against the system. Until he realized it wasn’t. Punk rock was a false rebellion. He didn’t know what Orthodoxy was at the time but he was in search of a radical Christianity that could satisfy his desire for truth and authenticity. A Monday night bible study at a tattoo parlor and a magazine called Death to the World changed his life. He found the last true rebellion.
