North Carolina Native Plants for Pollinators: Spring Blooms -NCWF
The Island Wildlife Chapter of the NC Wildlife Federation hosts Amy Mead, NC Cooperative Extension Natural Resources Agent, for an educational program on native pollinator plants on the coastal plain of NC. Amy is the Area Natural Resources Agent for Pender, Brunswick, and New Hanover Counties. Her background is in Coastal Ecology. Originally from South Florida, she has a Master’s degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University where she studied seagrass ecology and water quality in the Florida Everglades and Florida Bay. She most recently worked for NC Cooperative Extension at the New Hanover County Arboretum for many years. She enjoys assisting residents with issues related to water quality, stormwater, erosion, and native habitat restoration.
