4Kᵁᴴᴰ 336, Mi-24P - Demo flight at LHHH

This helicopter (s/n: 340336) was previously registrated as 96+46 arrived here in 1995 from the German Democratic Republic with 19 other Mi-24s (14 Mi-24D & 6 Mi-24P). Most of them were stored in bad conditions in Szentkirályszabadja. In 2003, 2 helicopters were overhauled in the Danubian Aircraft Company and they become 335 and 336. The type was served in the Hungarian Air Force until 2012, when the the last remaining Mi-24 became unairworthy too. In 2019, eight airframe was overhauled and got back in the HuAF fleet again. The Mil Mi-24 (NATO code: Hind) is a heavy gunship-attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers. It is produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and has been operated since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force and its successors, along with 48 other nations. The Mi-24 fuselage is heavily armored and can resist impacts from 12.7 mm (0.50 in) rounds from all angles. The titanium rotor blades are also resistant to 12.7 mm rounds. The cockpit is protected by ballistic-resistant windscreens and a titanium-armored tub, the crew compartment are overpressurized to protect the crew in NBC conditions. A modified Mi-24B was used in several speed and time-to-climb world record attempts. The official speed record set on 13 August 1975 over a closed 1000 km course of 332.65 km/h (206.7 mph) still stands. On 21 September 1978 this type set the absolute speed record for helicopters with 368.4 km/h (228.9 mph) over a 15/25 km course. The record stood until 1986, when it was broken by the current official record holder, a modified Westland Lynx. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ A 340336-os gyártási számú helikopter a 96+46-es oldalszámot viselte a Német Demokratikus Köztársaság légierejében ahonnan 1995-ben érkezett, 19 másik társával együtt (14 darab Mi-24D és 6 darab Mi-24P). Többségüket Szentkirályszabadján tárolták rossz körülmények között, majd 2003-ban két Mi-24P helikopter nagyjavításon esett át a Dunai Repülgépgyárban, amik a 335 és 336-os oldalszámot kapták. A típus 2012-ig szolgált a Magyar Légierőben, amikor az utolsó megmaradt Mi-24 légialkalmassága is megszűnt. 2019-ben 8 darab helikopter nagyjavítása történt meg, ezek visszakerültek a HuAF kötelékébe. A Mil Mi-24 Hind egy nehéz harci- és kis kapacitású (8 fő) csapatszállító helikopter. Gyártása a Mil moszkvai helikoptergyárában történt, a Szovjet haderőnél 1972-ben állt szolgálatban, a típus az utód- és a Szovjet Union kívül eső országokkal együtt közel 48 légierőben szolgált. A helikopter kabinja erősen páncélozott, akár 12.7 mm-es lőszernek is ellenáll úgy, ahogy a forgószárnyak is. A pilótafülke üvegezése golyóálló, alja titánium-páncélt kapott. Hermetikusan zárható, ezzel a személyzetet nukleáris, kémiai és biológiai támadások esetén is védve van. Egy módosított Mi-24B helikopter több sebesség- és emelkedési sebesség világrekord-kísérletben használatos volt. A hivatalos sebességrekord 1975 augusztus 13.-án került felállításra egy 1000 km-es pályán, melynek során az elért sebesség 332,65 km/óra volt, ami a mai napig rekord. Ezzel a típussal állították fel a helikopterek abszolút sebességrekordját 368,4 km/órával egy 15/25 km-es pályán, 1978 szeptember 21.-én.
