Granit'Aventure (87) – Raid VTT 75 km – Ambazac – 14 juin 2026 [VTTAE]

The Granit'Montana is dead. Long live the Granit'Aventure! 🚵‍♂️ For those who remember it, the Granit'Montana remains a mountain biking legend: over 100 km, nearly 4,000 m of elevation gain, and an uncompromising course. Permit restrictions forced the organizers to revise the event with this "Adventure" version, more accessible but still very challenging. With 75 km and 2,800 m of elevation gain, the 2026 edition was sure to get the legs burning! A rough night before the start 😴 Arriving the day before at Étang de Jonas with Jimmy and Valentin, everything seemed perfect for a good rest. That was without taking into account a particularly generous neighbor with his playlist until 3 a.m.... Three hours of sleep later, waking up was difficult, but the desire to ride was definitely there. A unique atmosphere 🔥 At the starting line, it was impossible not to bump into familiar faces. Friends, subscribers, riding buddies: it felt like participating in a huge mountain biking family reunion in the heart of the Limousin region. Good news for me, I got my Turbo Levo back with a brand new motor. Bad news for Jimmy: his AXS decided to go on strike at the 6-kilometer mark! I continued alone and gradually caught up with the lead group. Up ahead, they were riding fast. They attacked the climbs, jumped the bumps, and committed to the descents. The pace was high, but the enjoyment was immediate. The Monts d'Ambazac, an exceptional playground 🌲 The forests of the Monts d'Ambazac remain a paradise for mountain bikers. Playful singletrack, rolling terrain, technical sections, and magnificent scenery: it doesn't get much better than that. Riding the Singletracks of La Jonchère is always a pleasure. A true natural bike park that I recommend to all thrill-seekers. The course is very well designed, with a challenging and demanding first half, followed by a smoother and more playful second half. The terrain is extremely dry and dusty. Some participants will pay the price with a few unintentional tastes of the local Limousin produce. As for me, just a minor, harmless slip. The joy of sharing ❤️ As is often the case in mountain biking, groups form and break up as the kilometers pass. We chat, ride together for a few minutes or several kilometers. That's also what makes this sport so rewarding. Benoît joins me halfway through, and we finish this great adventure together. We set off at 7:30 a.m. and crossed the finish line around 1:30 p.m. Top-notch organization 🍻 The course markings are excellent, even though I managed to miss two intersections. Several participants humorously explained to me that the problem probably stemmed more from the rider than the course markings... The aid stations were generous, the battery swap service perfectly organized, and the post-race beer was particularly appreciated in the summer heat. Special mention also goes to the souvenir t-shirt given to participants. A great day of mountain biking in the Ambazac Mountains, with sport, riding, encounters, and lots of fun. A huge thank you to the entire organizing team and volunteers.
